Introducing the Docker Captains

We receive many requests from theDocker communityfor help identifying experts who can answer questions on different forums like Stack Overflow , share their knowledge in blog posts and online tutorials, and present at industry events like conferences and meetups.

Today, we are proud to introduce the Docker community to theDocker Captains!

Introducing the Docker Captains Docker Captains are Docker experts and leaders in their communities who demonstrate a commitment to sharing their Docker knowledge with others. To officially recognize their efforts and enable them to further contribute to the Docker community, we formed the Docker Captains program.

The 46Docker Captains were nominated as candidates for the program by the Docker team based on their exemplary contributions to and outstanding engagement with the Docker community. Members of the program are actively publishing blog posts, speaking at industry events, developing training materials, and active in local meetups. Since the program began in the fall, the Docker Captains have published over 100 blog posts to help you better learn and use Docker!

Members of the Docker Captains program come from a variety of tech communities including virtualization, machine learning, NoSQL and IoT. By pairing their expertise with Docker and containerization, Docker Captains are highly skilled tech professionals ready to solve today’s technical container challenges.

Docker Captains are located all over the world from Switzerland to South Africa and Argentina to Alberta, Canada and they are committed to actively sharing their comprehensive knowledge with the Docker community both online and offline.

But enough from us, what do the Docker Captains say:

Ajeet Singh Raina puts it as, “WE, the CAPTAINS are here to help you cross the oceans of application packaging.”

“I’m not only honoured to become a Docker Captain but excited to help the Docker community Build, Ship and Run their applications,” says Brian Christner . “The Docker Captain program connects the community with regional Docker experts and a network of Docker resources with the goal of spreading Docker knowledge globally.”

For Bret Fisher , “Docker’s been a great community supporter all along, but being a Docker Captain has given me a whole new level of respect for their commitment to that community. From the training content, to the meetup and speaking support, it’s been a great team to have at our fingertips.”

“I am thankful to be part of the Docker Captains program, because I enjoy sharing information with others, learning from other industry leaders, being part of a support ecosystem, and participating in meaningful dialog surrounding technical topics,” says Trevor Sullivan .

Docker Captainsare eager to bring their technical expertise to new audiences both offline and online around the world! Look out for Docker Captains at upcoming meetups and conferences like DockerCon . In the meantime, head todocker.com/captainsto meet all of the Docker Captains!
