Many people ask me why do we enter a field where everything has already been invented. The term Knowledge Management got very popular back in 90s which sounds like a stone age in terms of computer science. Nowadays, there are tons of solution providing knowledge management from simple project management tools and online document platforms to more sophisticated wiki systems. If I ask you what tools you know for managing and sharing your team knowledge, I’m pretty sure you would name at least few of them without even thinking.
The idea to create something completely different in the field of information management was quite long time in my head. But whenever I was thinking to make a step forward and investigate more about this topic, I was pulled back with the same argument that there certainly needs to exists something. Moreover, when we faced this problem and we were ready to solve it with a modern tool optimized to our needs we always rolled back to our backup plans of using Google Doc or Confluence to share our know-how with our team mates. The argument in this case was quite similar, there is a tool for sure but it is most probably far away from our financial capabilities or the tool is designed for large corporation and it would take ages to bring it into the life.
After a while I realized that it is exactly the reason I should spend some time around this topic. And that’s how we came up with Leafdock, a modern knowledge management app for modern teams.
We would be more than happy if you will also make the step forward and join us on this journey. Our promise to you is that we will do our best to finally solve the problem of sharing know-how within your team.
